About BEMA: This Boeing Recreation Club was developed to practice the effective method of self defense known as Kokondo Martial Arts. BEMA is affiliated with the International Kokondo Association (IKA) and practices both Kokondo Karate and Jukido Jujitsu. Kokondo Karate and Jukido Jujitsu are the martial arts systems developed by Shihan Paul Arel. Shihan Arel has been a black belt for over 50 years and has provided us with a wealth of information. Shihan Arel makes his home in Connecticut but visits BEMA a number of times each year, providing many hours of advanced learning to all who attend. In addition, he continually works with the black belts to perfect their teaching skills and martial arts abilities. BEMA offers classes in Kokondo Karate and Jukido Jujitsu to Boeing employees, their families, retirees and government or civilian contract employees working for Boeing.
