The February 1-3, 2008 seminar was
attended by many Kokondo-Ka in the region (Washington, Idaho,
California), and had plenty to offer.
July 19-21 2007 International
Seminar at Wellesley MA
With over 160 attending, this
year's Internationals was an event to remember. Several demonstrations
were given by our Masters including bunkai to kata, counters to Jukido
throws, and changes from start of one throw to execution of a different
throw mid way.
This was the 1st time the event was
held in Wellesley and Dr. Joaquin Betancourt and Ms. Amalia Nitu (a
teacher at the Wellesley College) did a great job of getting the
attendants located and ensured we had all things needed during our stay.
For more information on this years'
International Seminar, please ask one of the attendees pictured below.

May 4-6, 2007: Shihan Seminar at
Kent Dojo, BEMA.
Come and train with Kokondo-Ka from
the various Dojo's of the West!
The May seminar is only a few weeks
away. Last February Shihan, Master Howard, and Master Robert,
Master Soltez, Master Peterson, and Sensei Mikasa were all present to
teach us. Everyone learned something new, reviewed many Kata ,and
even did some Jukido.
We look forward to seeing you all
there.
November 2006
BEMA
held a martial arts demonstration to the Boy Scouts of America.
Dave and Scottie Thompson have been members for years and requested the
demonstration for their troop.

Many BEMA
volunteers showed up and performed Katas (forms), Bunaki (self defense
applications) and Sensei Mikasa gave an overview of Kokondo Karate and
Jukido Jujistsu. Demonstrations with same attacks but different
responses between the 2 systems illustrated how effective both can be.
